Kinky!

Right....No, a Doka is a doublecab pickup, a Tristar is a top of range Doka, a syncro (4x4) Tristar is rare thing, a RHD Syncro Tristar is like rocking horse poo!

Syncro's are classed as 14" & 16". 16" have bigger wheels obviously but there are lots of other little differences to. You will not find a RHD 16" Syncro.

Any clearer? :ok

The busmann had a rhd 16inch for sale a couple of years ago , there is also a you tube vid of a vag dealership sponcered rhd 16inch in race across the out back. The video was used as promo for the syncro. I will look for it later as i am on my phone at the moment.

Also all uk spec syncro had twin diff locks as stndard, can i for see the lhd/rhd debate starting again? :D

Yes, true there are a few conversions about & a couple of mythical 16" RHD somewhere in the world, but I stand by my first comment "You will not find a (original) RHD 16" Syncro."

No, Done & dusted, Just like Communism the Lefties lost! :rofl

Spied it in Essex about a year ago, but could not come to a deal, so had to wait. It had been off the road for nearly four years, just sitting forlorn. It then came up for sale again with a brand new motor etc. so I just had to jump in the car and drive 300 miles to check it out in the flesh. The underneath is one of the best I have seen on a syncro. It looks like it's never been offroad. Well, I will soon change that!

Fitted a set of Baxter's AVO coilover shocks on the front last week, so that I can raise the front end with ease. The BFGs are also a recent purchase. I have a set of 16" Ford Scorpio wheels, which might go on shortly with roadie type tyres. Although I am thinking maybe a set of 16 muds... I dunno...

Apparently RHD Syncros (DoKa or otherwise) always came with two difflocks ...or so I understand from reading on here.

Not so in LHD. Difflocks were expensive extras. Some LHD Syncros have none, some only the rear and only a few have both rear and front.
US Vanagon Syncros never had a front difflock (not ex works) because VW were afraid some yank would sue the shoyte out of them after (wrongly) applying the front difflock on tarmac and crashing because of it.

Ok, started thinking that it will be ages before I find a syncro, and lo and behold I found one today. Just want to run it buy you guys to see what you think. Its a c reg thats had a recon enigne on 36k total mileage is just over 70k. Its just had a full exterior respray back to white. Not sure if the diff locks work. Was £5500 now £4500. It is really tidy and reasonable straight. but is it worth that money?

Is it a van? a camper? a DoKa? a pickup? a Multivan? Is it petrol? or diesel? Is it LHD or RHD? Two diff locks or one? Whats under the respray? Is it the one that didnt sell on E Bay recently?

Pics?

Is it worth £4500 ..... maybe!

Is it the one that was on ebay not long ago for 8 grand, then 6 grand, then 5 grand? If it is, someone was quite liberal with the white paint as just about everything is covered in it including the fuel tank etc! Would be good to see some before the paintjob shots. That way you will know whether it's been clagged to the hilt with bondo
