it just shows that most of the people on here can not be bothered to advise but just to take take take,
From the Wiki:
Here's one that's relevant:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ar ... oss-member
Check out right down the bottom, if your radius arm support flanges are that bad, then the outer section of the cross-member will need this sort of attention too, as that's largely where the loads go..
This shows where else to look:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ar ... _door_side
Some of the later pages in this thread by your 'bantering partner' will be relevant...
https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=68856
Don't know how long you've had your van, but this would have been relevant some time ago:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ar ... _underseal
====
Overall, I'd say that just fixing the jacking point/radius-arm pickup frame, without addressing the cross-member and forward sill extensions might come back to bite... but you know better what the surrounding structural state is.
As you can see, the Wiki contains an awful lot of information... major structural repairs are often quite specific and difficult to fully document usefully. As mentioned above, we are moving into major structural repair territory here, which 99% of owners do not attempt and farm out to professionals.
There is actually, tons of stuff about welding, body repairs, welding equipment, techniques, rust-prevention and anti-rust (

) treatments in there.
Perhaps what's surprising is that the outer radius-arm frame plate (only?) was so rusty and escaped earlier notice... maybe a photo of it on 3rd July might well have garnered a more attention - often worth a thousand words - a picture - and so easy today.
Or just a simple bump and reminder, its
is holiday season/event season for some (us anyway

)...
===
By all means write up your repair as a photo-article, (in say MS Word or HTML) so we can put it in the Wiki, that would be good, as this sounds like a very strange rust occurrence (so localised, both mine are thinned down equally (from 5mm to about 3mm) and the whole surrounding area needed rebuilding)
Anyway, stick around, I'm sure you'll find plenty of other uses for the wide range of forums and club activities on offer... some just drop in for Tech Advice, others appreciate the community spirit, now that these vans are all approx 20 to 30 years old.

Blimey! As a relative newcomer to 80-90 (bought bus #1 in May '09), I appreciate that it's hard to gauge the mood of the audience sometime, but when asking for advice all you have to do is show a little gratitude and patience...if you find something out that you think may benefit other members (as in this case) then offer it up for the Wiki or start a thread about you project as Clive has advised.
Going in guns blazing and picking a fight with long-established members and Moderators (!) isn't going to win you any friends; what this club is really all about.

BIG THANKS to harryman for all the info just supplied, mine was no where as bad as that so much easier fix,
its great of you to take the time out for a newcomer where others didnt. covmans attitude over "his amount of posts" compared to mine tickled me, it makes the site look like it only looks after the multiposters as if there better then other T25 owners.
