Good question. The '93 van that I have just bought (which is the same spec as this one) was purchased in 1992 for ir£12,000 plus vat . In 1993 that would have equated to about £11,000stg including vat. €19000 is worth £16,796.89 today.

So the answer is yes by about 45% +.

Errr, think you've got that wrong. £11K was worth more in 92' than £16K is worth now.

Errr think again :D £11k then = His asking price of £16,797 + 45%(+) I reckon its lost = £24,355 +

So the answer is still yes by about 45% +.

Not quite the same thing, but my old landlord had a "jubilee" 77 Bonneville still crated in his shed !! :roll:

Back to topic;
What would you need to do to check this stored van over though, sitting still does no favours to these trucks as some of us have found to our cost..? All rubber (pipes, hoses, tyres etc will surely be US)

That said if my numbers come up then I could be tempted...
What a long strange trip it's been

If it was stored at room temperature in dry conditions then there is no reason why the rubber bits should be beyond use. The tyres and wheel bearings along with all the fluids would be where to concentrate on. Recommissioning I think is what its called. The tyres and wheel bearings could have flat spotted over the years and the fluids would have gone off. As for the engine hoses it might be prudent to change them along with a battery. But I imagine all of that has been attended to - at €19k I'd hope so.

He claims the van was 62.000 DM new (seems a bit dear but who knows what extras he's got). DM 62.000 = € 31.000

Price new 31 k price now 19 k loss 12 k or 38.7%
