holding back
I used to have a problem where going uphill I would have to slow to less then 40 mph
And that was *cking scary on the motorway. Any hill and it was 'hasards-on' time. mpg was around 18
After which i took her to the garage; the farside carb, was pissing fuel when standing still, the sparks for 1 and 2 were covered in black smeg.
The lad also balanced the engine and reset the timing, i changed the dizzy and the arm. Now I get 24 mpg, do 100kph (she is an imported german lefty but that woud be 62mph). Although I have to say my driving is aimed at temperature rather than speed.
Off course now the choke doesn't work properly, but that means you have to keep yer foot on the throttle for the first 2 minutes and gently bring her to her senses.
But the noise once she is at 80 degrees
and the lack of blue smoke
If I am allowed, get yourself a temp meter installed, mine tells me when it is time for a cuppa!
