Now & Then

Post by meggles »

Took your advice. After I fitted screen I got away to Robin Hoods Bay. Brilliant! (See general chat). It was worth all the hard work!! :D Only problems were a hook up lead with two female ends  Soon sorted! :D A noisy N/S front break (Sort that this weekend!) and a partially seizing O/S front caliper. Watch this space!! Anyone who knows the North Yorks Moors will understand this: Up Sleights in 2nd. Round the hill by Saltersgate in 2nd, with a slip into 1st at the very end! Pulled in to car park at Hole of Horcum and a coach driver pulled in behind and said "I thought those buckets(barsteward) were slow, that went like sh!t up that hill".
But everything has a price I suppose, I got 19mpg  I would have got much more but it was pedal to the metal because I wanted to "see what it could do". (More to test it's abilities than to see it's top speed. It's all steady driving from now!).
Anyway, as I said, it was worth all the hard work. It feels good to hear the positive comments when folk know you did it yourself!
Have a great camping summer all of you!

There are some bits of the conversion that look like a Bilbo. But I don't know for sure.
