You can see the top of the unit here, we also had some water damage behind and in the sill, it was from the fridge vent! :x

Thanks for the pictures! Really appreciated, although it all looks very familiar! We have water damage in the sill, from the fridge too. Also seemingly from a window leak, as the back edge of he worktop is rotten too.

The seat box carpet looks very neat, so we will definitely be doing something like that.

Need to go read up on insulation and stretchy carpet...

We also had a problem with our window, the middle sliding window seal was perished and it was near on impossible to find the correct piece of seal to make it work. Also have a few pictures of that if you're interested

Yes please! - ours has been filled in with Silicone, so no longer sliding. I will need to rectify that!
