without doubt the garage is pulling a fast one.Tell him you want your old engine back,no ifs or buts. He wouldn't have gone to the trouble of swapping it if he didn't want it himself, the important thing you haven't said is has he fitted your old engine in HIS van?.Dont pay any money till you sort this. With paint people you are dealing with people who have no morals and have no problem lying to anyone. Don't let his smiling honest face fool you, he has stolen your engine and gave you his shot one and he is going to charge you. I can not believe someone has done this, tho he is a paint man so yes I can.
