That head looks new mate. wont be long before its singing.
If it hasn't got the later blue presure cap on it. best change it as the original black ones can give these sort of problems.
I know a bloke who has a standard mtdi pump with a VW mount bracket bored out, and ready to fit if you have a change of heart with the doka.
good luck with the re-assemble, them nice new threads will help to make it an easy job.
When i do the head bolts i do the first torque down. Then before I do the torque angle, I use a tippex pen and mark the top of all the head bolts with a white dot in the 12oclock position.
If you dont get the mark acurate enough the first time, wipe it off a bit lively and re-mark it.
This way you can clearley see how far youv'e gone and will help prevent you over doing it or loose track of which bolts have been wound down. It also helps with confidence of remembering where you were up to if something drags you away from the job.
