"The ideal choice for when you just want a bit of extra room"

"New colours for 2006 plus an inner tent and groundsheet included"

The Royal Traveller Tunnel Annexe is a well proven awning having been produced for several years now, it measures 300 cm wide x 470cms deep (this includes the attachment tunnel being 100cm deep) x 210cms high.

With a structure of 3 fibreglass poles and a polyester fabric in two tone green and grey it is a light weight awning , extra support is added by two roof poles inside the awning, this feature and several guy ropes results in a stong self supporting awning.

The polyester tent has fully taped seams with the design incorporating front and a side doors, both of which can be rolled up during the day, the front door can also be used as a sun canopy during the day using the upright poles supplied.

There are two triangular windows in the front panel and a windows in both sides creating a light airy feel, all the windows have curtains and the side windows have mesh built into the upper half for ventilation, there is also a ventilation duct in the front door.

Supplied with the awning is a fully enclosed two person inner tent, the inner featues ventilation from flyscreens both in the doors and end panel, also a tent footprint groundsheet is included in the package.

The awning attaches to the camper using a pole that fixes in the gutter using the clamps supplied but also comes supplied with a piped edge for using a figure of 8 attachment (fig 8 not supplied).

A large zipped rear door allows access from the awning to the camper, the whole awning easily disconnects and can be left securely and safely.

All you need to do is put the poles through the tunnel and clip in at the bottom of each pole it really easy just put it up at home first.

Royal Traveller 2 Awning

Post by Bowton Lad »

Ermm.....Mrs.Scoobs, I have a suspicion that the R/T 2 Awning may not in fact be a tunnel awning.

The Royal Traveller is a tunnel awning. The Royal Traveller 3 is a 'little house' type awning. Someone asked about the R/T 2 awning a few months ago & I gave advice about it assuming that it was of the tunnel type. It was only when Kate posted a photo of one that it turned out to be the earlier 'little house' awning, ie.early version of R/T 3.

Royal Traveller 2 Awning

Post by Bowton Lad »

Just viewed the Camper Shop website again but only the Royal Traveller
Tunnel Awning & the Royal Traveller 111 Awning ('little house') are shown.

There is no photo of the R/T 2 presumably because it has been replaced by the R/T 111. Anyone got a photo of an R/T 2 awning ? :)

Kefty, does your awning have thin fibre glass poles or the thicker metal poles? Once we have this info we will know exactly which awning you have got. :)

Thanks very much for all this lovely info but I have the thick metal poles.
I will have to put this awning up, I just thought that instructions would have useful info for me - like maintenance, storage etc

Royal Traveller 2 Awning

Kefty, when you start to put up the awning always assemble the basic rectangle for the roof & any cross members. Then connect the upper part of the legs so that the frame is at waist/chest height. Then place the awning over the frame & then put the lower part of the legs in place or extend them if they are the telescopic type.

That just leaves the guy lines to be pegged out & the skirt round the bottom to be secured.

The golden rule is never to pack away an awning in it's bag even if it's only a bit damp (never mind wet!) it will just go mouldy & may rot depending on the material it's made from.

Have fun with your awning! :)
