Converting 2.1 petrol to diesel

Post by PC52 »

What are the pro's and cons of converting 2.1 petrol to 1.9tdi diesel? Any suggestions? Does the starter motor create a problem with the fuel tank?
The vehicle is 2.1 crewcab syncro. Should I have the normal type diesel bell housing and will it fit straight on the gear box?

Would it not be simpler to go LPG?

mmm,
Following extensive discussion with people at Vanfest I think gas is the way to go. Any body have recomendations as to which gas conversion kits to use? Which, Where, How and price?

I was told by my LPG expert that the best kit by far is made by Tartarini. Head and shoulders above all others for quality.

could be so Trundler
all about cost at the end of the day, and where do you stop
if money was no object would have a subaru engine in and a multi point system
whatever you go for has to be better than paying for petrol, filled up last night for £16, and got nearly 200 miles out of the tank

Been considering this for a while now and you will need a lot of different parts ie. tank, bellhousing, engine bars, diesel stuff like pipes & filters, hoses pumps and a load of stuff.
Its not that easy ........

Yep - Been through it and collected all the bits from a long list of parts. Took a few months to assemble it all. Just waiting to get it back now!

Yeah right, to get something back, you'd need to have it in the first place.
