K-jet GTI engine (8v) into a 84 panel van....

Post by Nighttrain1974 »

Does anyone by any chance have any wiring diagrams for these as i have just bought a van last weekend with this conversion and now it has developed electrical problems.

Someone must have done this conversion before and i could do with a wiring diagram to show what goes where.

Any help, links etc appreciated......

Cheers in advance

Darren.

Problem is intermittent spluttering and cutting out.

Strange thing is that it ran all the way from Santa Pod back to huddersfield on saturday with no problems.

Started playing around on monday evening and has got worse since.

He Runs the Brick-Yard website and has a garage repairing T25's in Huddersfield

Good luck m8

Giz a bell if you want, Jenny has my number

Hope you get it sorted......I personally don't think it is much, could just be a loose wire somewhere.......Conversions are a bummer when they go wrong

aint that engine a bit of a mismatch, it needs torque to pull 2 ton. wont the cam timing be more high rev powerband type performance than low rev torque(t25) style?? lots of petrol, not much performance though.

The 8v 1.8 GTi engine seems to pull very nicely. Have sat at 70, put the foot down and it climbs to 90.

Well tuned and nicely driven you can get upto 30mpg. Its probably the cheapest conversion of the lot as engines can be picked up for £50-200 and if your diesel already you have most the parts to bolt it all up...
