Im off surfing next weekend and in need of a portable heater for the van, has anyone got any ideas about what I should buy

Tell me about this propex 12v heater. Who does them? What cost? How much juice do they use etc etc?

I have one of these type of double parabolic heaters, which are reasonably priced, But use the 907 type cylinders (one on the left),,,,,,,,,

Does the job, what more can I say,,,,,

i went to get one of those oil filled radiators from b&q yesterday and they're doing a further 15% off, so only cost £8.50!

propex, pah it's expencive to run they said, expencive to buy they said!
what a load of pap!

it's the best thing i've bought for my van to date!!! it is blown air heating, you turn it on, it sparks up, heats a lump of metal, fan blows air at lump of metal, warm air comes out! runs on lpg or butane.

depending in how you fuel it will determine running cost eg if you buy your leisure gas from calor it will be expencive, taking this into account i bought a refillable bottle from a chap on e-bay, this costs £8 to fill as opposed to £25 for the same sized calor bottle. having mine on for 12hrs a day , using cooker and fridge too, will last us for 2 weeks camping.

they cost about 300 new have a look on ebay, pay attention to model when comparing prices, i got my 2000 model 30 cheaper that the others were selling the 1600 model at the time!

Propex (Propex Heatsource) themselves sell refurbished units. complete will the full fixing kits.

And George Spannerrack is knocking Eberspachers out on the 'For Sale' board too. Much warmness will ensue.

(Although if we didn't have an Eber I'd follow Disco's advice ... heating,cooking and fridge from one source ... sounds good to me !)
