Knocked pin out changing cambelt!

Post by wookey »

hi, Hope someone can help..

Ive just been changing my cambelt on my 1y 1.9 na .

Story short.. i've managed to knock off the pump locking, the pump then spun a little, not sure what to do now. The other locking pins/bars are all ok ( cam etc) so can i just rotate the pump back and put the pin in? or is that just naive?

any advice before i go further greatly apreciated.

pic below is of the pump, the slot is at 7 o clock position, the locating hole is about 11 o clock position.

Image

many thanks

remove the cam cover and if im right there is a slot in the back of the cam so you can lock it there with a thin metal plate,
if its not broke dont fix it, or i will ;-)
