Anyone else use Kangaroo Petrol ?

Post by Fritz »

Todays episode :::::::::1.9 DG Petrol

Before setting off for the Northern Monkey Meet last night 7pm, I filled up with 20 quids worth of the liquid gold, then off I go to Lymm some 17 miles away south on the M6.
Just after 10pm it started to rain,,,, I then went on to Sale in Manchester another 14 miles or so, then on to the airport and back home, total; milage approx 63 miles.
It was only when I dropped off the motorway sliproad (4 miles from home) I had any indication of the 'Hic Up's', I instantly guessed it must be water in the fuel,,, anyway I decided to have a closer look later that day as it was all ready 2.45am.

So this morning a quick fuel filter change was needed before setting off for Southport (7 miles) , no problems were found on the trip going, but on my return the 'Hick Up's started again.The Fuel filter was quickly changed on the car park of the local 'Hickey Whorehouse' before returning home, a distance of a mile or so.

I did read recently about the fuel filler neck gromets have been found to be perrished when closely inspected (I guess this item is the bit at the tank end of the pipe ? or is it the filler cap end of the pipe / I can't remember )

Also that 'old chestnut' a corroded fuel tank will also have to be eliminated from this conundrum.

But my personal feeling is contaminated fuel bought from the last filling station I visited before my journey last night. I should have gone else where as I am always suspicious of any garage with half of it's pumps out of action , OR in this case messages taped to each pump apologising for the slow running of the pumps due to an electrical fault (more like low levels in the tanks)

So thats tomorrows job sorted then,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :o
