upgrading speedo and clock

Post by Frostbus »

Hi all
please help i have just bought a set of clocks from a 87 and want to put them in my 84 (later speedo has a trip and also analogue clock)
the long connection socket is the same as mine but when i plug it to the new clocks both the fuel guage and water temp move over fully withought the ignition on!! also have no warning lights working.
did the wiring change on later models but connections stay the same?

cheers
honestly darling it wont cost much to fix.

wiring of multiplug changed, the edge connectors are labelled on both circuit boards, and the info is I think on the wiki, and is in the bentley manual. Be careful you don't damage the board.[/img]
