Well, I've just had my LPG kit swapped from my 2WD 1.9DG engined van onto my Syncro 2.1DJ engined van and the fuel consumption is appalling!
The 2WD van would do between 19 and 24 on gas (and about 4mpg more on petrol) but the Syncro's first three fill ups on gas have been - wait for it - 12.5mpg, 15.5mpg, and 14.5mpg!
Even allowing for 4WD drag and the bigger engine this can't be right can it??
I'm sure there are settings I could adjust to improve matters but I was just wondering if there are any LPG-powered Syncronauts out there who could give me an idea what I should expect?
dump the injection and carb it, loads better, my camper returns 23-26 on lpg and the inj stuff just gets in the way, you aint using it, why have it there.
Hi trundler
getting about 18-20 on LPG with a 2.1 MV syncro panel van (with cat removed)
I do find for some reason some places I fill up can give me much worse mpg(2 in particular) so avoid them
have adjusted the system as advised by Steve(gasure) and found a nice compromise between power and economy
hope this helps
Cheers guys. I have now put 5 tanksfull through it with a best of 15.5mpg and a worst of 13....
My LPG wizz suggested some adjustments but with no effect. It now looks like the injection gubbins is indeed the main suspect - specifically the trap-door airflow sensor. LPG man says there's a device to hold the trap door open which can be fitted and which may help.
I had a similar prob with my TDI in scotland ,One of the intercooler hoses had partialy come away so the airmass/flow meters was giveing false and eratic readings so the ECU was pumping more fuel into the engine
Nope, disconnecting the airflow sensor had no effect - 13.2 mpg!
I've turned the power valve screw in by another turn (with no appreciable effect on power). I'll see how that goes for this tankful. My right foot is getting lighter and lighter...

Hi Andy
doubt it is the quality, more like the pump worn at the filling stations, as can never seem to FILL up at these 2 places
paranoia seems to help though
