Of water getting into my petrol tank

I'm thinking that its what simon is on about with the filler neck rubber..can someone point me at the post?

hi kev,have you smelt a fuel smell coming from the van,if so it could be the tank is rusty on top ,i had this on my old van and water was getting in, i hope it isnt that on your van.bluebus,

No there's no smell and leaks but whenever it rains Bingo half a litre of watter can be pumped out of the tank...:twisted:

JUst inspect the rubber collar at the top of the fuel filler neck behind filler cap, kev, If its rotten & perished replace it--yer local VW dealer will get one for you

It never go's out in the rain, its all that washing it gets that causes the trouble then there's the lack of pulling power due to the weight of all the wax polish on it.
