WEAZLECHIN - If you'd actually come face to face with the Waffen SS, I think you'd change your views, or probably pi$$ yourself with pure SVO... we all know where you're coming from, but I'd question that driving to France and back (and those SuperMarche in Calais that sell crap vino), to save what you think is a £1 bottle or less, is environmental sense, especially considering the cost of fuel? Cycling down to your local store might be a bit less of a tax on the planet and give you a taste for better wine ... just my take on this though! And I admit I used to drive to Belgium to bring 120 bottles of specialist beers back occasionally (that couldn't be bought here for love nor money) - and it was a nice touch when a lovely female attendant on the Tunnel Train checked in the back of the car, low on its springs and said - what a rare and pleasing sight, not a bottle of Stella nor a can to be to be seen! Vive La Bier Belgique...they even pay you back when you return the bottles.

Use your freedom wisely :) One day, you may not have it if the Waffen SS really do come to pass, but fortunately we aren't anywhere near it yet! Maybe thanks to those Spitfire pilots of 60 years ago 8) who drank and paid for a decent pint of ale, frequently with their lives - don't exagerrate!

Looks to me like some people are a bit too "Mr Angry" over fuel taxation and others are a bit too "holier than thou" about evading tax.

Errrrm, I think I prefer the former. It's less pretentious!

By the way, I don't use illegal cooking oil myself - I pay my 20% on LPG like a good boy! Oh yes, I only go for approved methods of tax evasion, m'lud :P

no i did never get to meet any sa or ss men(gladly) but my great aunt met her maker at dachau in 1942 aged 36, my great uncle johnny drowned in 4" of water after being wounded on the beaches of dunkirque where his mates had to leave him behind, and i have been under heavy fire myself night after night without sleep or food for days on end only 3 years ago(rock on), never pissed any veg out, we dont scare easily though. i visited auschwitz, bergen belsen(hohne) and dachau when in germany and poland. 3000 extra laws have been created by our mind police since theyve been in power, the way its going state control is only a gordon brown away!! so buy veg oil with a cry of freeeeedom in the aisles of asda and lidl before its banned and they data chip your wheely bin (oh?), come on the veg oil barmy army, take to the streets with a litre or two. ps, i dont even use it, at 50 mpg i dont need to its just funny listening to the holier than thou sandals brigade.

Think you will find it was the Hurricane pilots who had the most kills

Very true - there were 3 times as many to start with! But we should qualify that by saying they were mainly bomber kills - an excellent gun platform the Hurricane - and no doubt they drank their ale as well with its 2d of tax or whatever it was - washed the taste of cordite and disintegrating Dorniers away apparently

I quite agree, but he's not coming from where the Waffen SS were, he's just plain deluded.

So if you don't stop shouting about Untaxed Veg Oil, he'll go and tax that at Lidls directly, whatever anyone wants to use it for - now you wouldn't put that past him, judging by your opinion of him > Would you?

I thought all talk about political stuff was banned on here. lol. Must say though, it upsets me too. But at the end of the day, what can we do about it. The government just go their merry way and do what they want.

Well, certainly Party Politcial stances aren't welcome, as they tend to polarise debate and can soon lead to extreme positions being adopted, unwelcome in most guises, although I suppose extreme technical viewpoints are acceptable, used to make a point clear :?

I have just heard on the news that our government may well be taking a different stance to Bulgarian and Romanian immigration than what might have been expected. Whether this was the point being made I'm not sure, but as we are well off the original topic now, perhaps it's a good time to put this thread to bed and go to bed too.
