oil price

Post by jcgeddes »

Hi all I have been browsing this site reading all I can on using cooking oil in my JX powered multivan.

If I am correct and do everything above board then the goverment will charge me around 45 - 50 pence per litre I use on top of the purchase cost.

In sainsburys today the cosy of 3 litres of oil is 1.60, so 53p per litre.

Making a total of 98 - 103 per litre - diesel is only 93p at the moment.

So where are you all getting your oil from and how much are you paying?

Cheers
John

If you need to know how much tax is payable on this sort of oil ........... the answer should be somewhere on here:

www.hmrc.gov.uk

I know it is on there somewhere, just cant remember exactly where at the moment.
I like you ............ I will kill you last

Cheers for the link, I have had a nose through the site but, have missed the vital information with regards to cost (duty per litre)

I have found the hydrocarbons oil duty thing, but I can't decide which category it comes under.

But at the moment I can't see who people are doing it (running vegtable oil blends) all above board, and doing cheaper than buy diesel from a petrol station, unless the oil is free!

So what have I missed??

Any help greatful

John
