I heard seven complete turns, but as in earlier relpies elongated studs can and should be purchased, about £20 for a set..............
see brickwerks..............
JK's sell the socket for a price.

you won't need a 45mm socket, however you will need a 46mm one...

as said 7 turns is the minum and thats not including the last bit of push to make them tight...
WHY T3's.... because they are just so adictive, and having one just aint enough

A good rule of thumb for all bolts and nuts is to have 1 1/2 times the length of thread, of the diameter of the thread.

So if you have an M14 bolt or stud, then you would ideally want 21mm worth of threads.

If you look at the pitch of the bolt/stud, (I think they're M14X1.5) then divide 21mm by 1.5 and you would have 14 threads.

If you go and grab a stock wheel nut and measure the depth of it, hey presto you'll find it's fairly close to 21mm :)

Hope this helps.

It seems silly to me to have them anything other than level with the nut.
A nut is 25mm deep (1")
Any less, well the wheels are done up to 180Nm, thats tight, would you really want that load spread accorss less threads?
Any more and the end of the threads may rust and when removed you will have to drag the rusty threads through the good threads on the nut.
When fitting longer rear studs I use a standard nut and cut the threads to that length. Job Jobbed!

And, I sell them :) and supply them with instructions if needed and new split pins for the rear hubs.
