I have a new project and would like some answers for some bits and bobs. How do I stop the headlights being on permanently (swedish import)? The door locks where all seized but after applying lots of jungle juice they are freeing up but can I buy the springs which flick the mechanisms back? I am also looking for a ladder bar. I also want a studded tyre to complete the set. Instead of grounding my son I will set him on the task of pulling the studs out!!!!!!! Alternative punishments!!!!
She arrived last night could engage gear but nothing happened. Played all day with her and the clutch lever on the bell housing was seized! Got the degreaser and power washer out, there is a sign she might sparkle soon.
Try to post some pictures soon.
Thanks to Syncropete. (Sorry couldn't help you with your roof.)
To disable the headlights coming on with ignition you can simply remove the control relay in the fuse box.
I can't remember exactly which one it is, just turnthe ign on and pull out the upper ones one by one till they go out.
Metal cased one I think, it's been a while
I think the headlights are the least of your worries though..

????
What else should I be worried about?
herpies, premature ejaculation, clutch slave seizing, vehicle not at its safest, leave the lights at least people will have a slightly earlier warning you are coming
Okay now, serious stuff. Nothing is ever easy I have got a serious problem - all gears work except 4th. It doesn't engage it just grates as though it can't get into gear. Also after I put it through the gears there is a noise when idling - clutch down = no noise - me think it could be the thrust bearing.?. Also tested the lockers - front diff light comes on but the other two don't (3 lights on dash). When I switched the rear diff on and then switched it off I could hear the air escaping. Lights - threw away a relay that worked (little one on top row, a b***h to get out)
I have now put her in the garage and decided to remove engine and gearbox. i have drained the liquid out of the gearbox I presume it used to be oil it now resembles silver hammerite!!!!! and the sump plug has a new take on christmas trees (upload pics tomorrow) I think the gearbox needs to be buried, so I need a gearbox now anybody got one?The code AVN 22020 Although I think now that I'm going to such extremes I shall convert to diesel.

See, told you the headlamps were the least of your worries!

middle light is for decoupler you probably dont have one. Rear diff lock things to check, air hoses ar in good order (make sure you mark them inner and outer or you'll engage diff locks when in off position ) ideally you would test for vaccum being created I cant remember how much you'd be looking for. If you can here a hiss track it down. if you have vacuum then its time to look at the actuator itself. heres the removal on the wiki http://www.club80-90.co.uk/wiki/index.p ... rs_removal
generally speaking crud gums up the system and prevents it engaging. there is a possibility that it IS engaging but the lights not coming on.
Aha
I have now enlisted the services of some very experienced military chaps from far and wide,. Things are looking a bit more hopefull . I shall keep you all updated, more to follow. Still, I can fiddle with other parts until I get her up and running.
Ok, Gearbox going to the garage tommorrow to be stripped down, I have had a few suggestions as to what is wrong but I am still trying to source some internal gearbox parts. Anybody know anybody?
