Simple Towing Question

Post by Mick & Tracey »

I noticed that Clive Smith's Technical Introduction on the website says not to tow for extended periods.

Does this mean don't have the vehicle towed or is there an issue in towing a trailer?

Ah, that means don't have it towed for extended periods and don't have it towed with a front or rear-end lift without removing the propshaft first. Ther are good towing vehicles up to their placarded max. towing weight and tow-hitch load...

GVW 2500 Kg

Cross Country payload 960 - 200

Unladen + Driver 1540 Kg

Payload 960 Kg

Trailer (with brakes; 12% slope) 2000 Kg

Trailer (w/o brakes) 600 Kg

Roof Load (4%) 100 Kg

Trailer Nose wt 75kg

Permiss Axle 1300/1380 (Front/rear)

Some will vary depending slightly on vehicle options.
