I need some advice. Ive got a 2ltr Aircooled engine that has recently thrown a spark plug (number two). Any way I got a helicoli put in and thought that would sort the problem out.
However since then the van has been running like a bag of sh*@ on both petrol and gas.
We though the timing may be out so had a look at the timing (with a strobe) and it looks like it is reading around 27. I though it was meant to be around 5?
Basically the van will start ok,however within five or so minutes the temp has risen very high and i start to lose power.
Im worried that when I had the spark plug thrown I had to continue to drive the van on three cylinders for about 50 miles, would this have damage the timimng in some way to enable the measure to be that wide out? I am unable to adjust it back to 5 with out the rotary arm pointing to number three plug.
The van has run very well before the problems so I am really confused as to why it would be out so much.
Any advice given would be much appricated, Im losing the will to want to continue with the van, which I thought I would never do.

Cheers
Dave
