Noisy Fuel pump

Post by GAML »

Hello Everybody,
I have a 2.1 DJ Auto which is running fine, but (there is always a but) recently the fuel pump has started to make an annoying whine. Questions I have are - is this common? will it stop working? should I change it? can it be fixed?
Thanks
Graham

I replaced mine because I thought it was faulty - the new one is just as noisy!

You could always get an aftermarket one from a different manufacturer. Even one from a scrappy.

Fuel pump noise

Post by Rooster »

I sorted my one out by re-mounting the pump with a foam pad between it and the chassis. The original mount had broken and the pump was touching the body creating a loud and verry irritating buz. I used a long strap to hoild it all in place. Now I can hardly hear it.
