[quote="spacemonkey"]Also, can the standard alternator/battery actually cope with running the fridge whilst driving?
quote]yes. The fridge draws about 10 Amps which is far too high to just leave switched on but well within the ability of an alternator.

The zig on my holdsworth is pants at charging the leisure batteries. It will do it, but incredibly slowly. My two batteries take two whole days to charge using an external battery charger. Using just the zig takes ages.

My fridge never works very well (in fact im not sure if it works at all or if its even wired up) on the battery whilst driving. Never bothered me though cause it works like a dream on gas.

I have two car batteries installed (one under each front seat as i can't seem to find a leisure battery that will fit) and a 110Ah leisure battery in a cubby for the eberspacher. I can go for at least a week without moving.

Good luck....

The first two terminals left to right on the connector block on a ZIG CF8 are for connecting the car battery to facilatate charging. Need to have switches in touring position for this. Details & wiring diagram on the Peter Everard website.

hope this helps.
