Gonna be heading down that way this weekend and wondered if anyone had been / done any greenlaning in Northumberland and got any suggestions for some good routes where I'm not gonna get a shotgun pointed at me...
Any suggestions gratefully recieved etc etc.
Cheers,
Andrew

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape; If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Big thanks to KevH for being a wealth of knowledge and good advice on the area.
Great weekend of laning with some stunning backdrops - amazing coastline too with deserted beaches - and all this on a bank holiday weekend! All I can say is that I hope it continues to be overlooked by holiday makers because it certainly makes for a bit of a gem of a 'getaway' weekend destination...
Here's a little taste:

sorry not to reply sooner, came off me bike yesterday and spent the day in hospital on morphine - good sh*t that stuff...
thanks for fixing the pics clive, it was sending me potty...!
mark, the run took two days once we were in Berwick. from there we just meandered down the coast and went inland when there was a good green lane worth driving.
kev, we did go down to the ford and the water was below the stepping stones so I inched my way into it then decided to get out and wade through it first. it was pretty fast flowing and came up to my thighs so i decided to phone doctor russel for a second opinion! once i was reminded that my air filter was not 100% water tight i bottled it. didn't really fancy risking my engine - the ford will keep untill i've got some of you boys along with me to share the risk with!
cheers for now.

mmmm, morphine, i remember last time i was given that, one minute in agonising pain the next away with the fairies without a care in the world.
from your description, i'd guess that lane's a no go for the rest of the year no unless we get some surprise sunshine for a week or two, it was only up to my knees last time i was up there, 't is the ledge that one wheel can drop down that generally causes trouble as you end up with a rear wheel of the ground whilst in 2ft of water and needing to drive into deeper water to be able to exit the river
