crew cab side windows

Post by dubaroo »

Got a quote from vw today for side windows and rubbers for my crew cab. Just wondering if anyone else does them, and how easy/hard are they to fit?

I put a 2nd hand pair in mine and they were easy to fit and don't leak like the blanking plates did. Removing the blanking plates neatly was a bit awkward though as some of the tack welds were quite big. The flanges were a bit rusty underneath (It looked like they were never painted on one side) but cleaned up easily. You could get (laminated) glass cut by any decent glaziers but you really need the VW seals as anything off the roll would be a pig to fit neatly.
Why does the not quite finished job before last always conspire with the not quite started job after next to make what you should be doing now harder?
