fig 8 awning strips

Post by paulw »

Awaiting the arrival of a Reimo Tourmobil 5 awning (secondhand) and need to know if/how the figure of 8 strips attach it to the gutter of my t25 hightop. Anyone got any pictures of it in action ?? Thanks

Sorry no pics, but they just push on. They can be harder to get off, mine always tries to take the black plastic gutter protecter with it especially when it's hot. Don't try to push it on along the whole length in one go, push about an inch of one end on and then feed it on an inch or two at a time. To get it off, use a flat bladed screwdriver, push it in the top parallel to the gutter and lift, the rest comes off fairly easy. I've made it sound complicated but when you see them it will be obvious.

Its just the trim on the gutter as fitted to some vans-makes fig8 hard to fit---imho the better/easier way of attachin the awning to van is the metal pole that threads thru awning layed in gutter & clamped on--JK do gutter clamps

yeah but them bloody gutter rails have rusted my gutter fig 8 are lots better to get them on put onto awning first then to the van they dont seem like they will hold but they do when you put upto gutter tilt slightly towards van put one corner on then the rest bit by bit to get of reverse all what you done
the fig 8 strips will hold in strong winds ben there done that etc... you'll work it out easy enough

Fit an awning rail like I have on mine to the pop top.
