Fitting manual switch to cooling fan

...or just try replacing the fan switch.
The fan switch is behind the lower grille on the right as you look at the front of the van and you will need a deep 30mm socket or spanner to crack it off.
Check radiator isn't blocked, it's bled up properly, the thermostat is working properly, the cam and pump timing are good, the auxilliary waterpump is working, the waterpump isn't blocked or the impeelors damaged....
For once Thomas is talking sence, repair the problem not remedy it's effects, fitting a switch is a bit of a bodge, just fix the problem!

Spot on Simon. Bear in mind that temperature guages are FAR from accurate. They merely provide a reference point that you can work from if the temp swings over the top. Mine shows it around a quarter nearly all the time and I'm sure its hotter than that.
