Hey well done, Aidan, that's not bad is it... provided you've got £1800 tucked away for a rainy day.
About twice the price of a rebuild here, warranty?
Wiki that..

Mmm, Aidan and I were discussing this, £2115 inc VAT "not too bad" ..
Makes a gen VW engne look even cheaper really :D
But I think Aidan said 2 year warranty on the box, now thats a lot better than any others are offering.. so maybe it isnt as bad as one would first think, if you are keeping the syncro..

Are there any recommended parts websites for these vans? I've always bought my Citroen parts from GSF but they only seem to have fairly common stuff.

There's ETOS, the online parts catalogue (Aidan will advise hopefully)

and I've heard that some people have installed ETKA somehow, the VW official parts digital catalogue. That's the program you see VW counters and GSF etc using to look up the part nos and find a price, etc.

ETOS is a more modern version of ETKA, which is franchised somehow I think, weheras ETKA has to be bought ouright or rented I imagine, so is illegal otherwise.
