WINDOW REMOVAL ?

Hi, just discovered some rust bubbling up under the rear right hand side window rubber, I'm gonna need to remove the window to do a proper job.
Can anyone tell me how to remove it, it's one of those with an airvent as part of the glass(TOWARDS THE BACK), is double glazed and has a sort of chrome strip in the window rubber.Should I get someone to do it or can I do it my self.

pull out the chrome strip and push the window out best if there's someone on the other side

Out is easy, but I recomend expert refit. It should be cheap and that way it is easy

agreed thats what I did cost £70 with autoglass.......very neat job and no leaks

Thanks for that, what sort of force does it take - pushing from arms or laying on back and useing feet.

Can not push window out, am I just not pushing hard enough (scared of breaking glass), I presume the idea is to push the glass out leaving the window rubber in place (or have I got that wrong, and the rubber comes out along with the glass).

push a corner first then it will almost fall out leaving the rubber in situ

As above - to get Window Out, push a corner first. To put it back in is easy enough you just need to know a couple of tricks.

Put the rubber into the van and put a piece of string, cord or electrical wire into the glass groove. Offer the glass up to the rubber and push it firmly against the rubber & pull the string - All will become clear once you have tried and failed a few times. Lubricant (WD40) helps.

To put the bead back in you need a special tool. But you can make this with a Wire coat hanger. Its basically Diamond Shaped and it goes into the groove and opens the edges to allow the bead to slip in, Nearly impossible to describe to you on here I'll try to find a link on the web later.
