I would sort the turbo and boost issue before thinking about a remap. If full boost only arrives around 3,000 rpm, something isn't working as it should, and a map won't really fix that.

The good news was in another post.
I finally worked out that my wastegate valve was stuck so the truck was over-boosting and going into limp mode within a short distance of starting. I didnt realise that it was almost permanently in limp mode and thought it just wasnt designed to push a 4x4 syncro around.
Now its flippin' awesome and doesn't need a remap at all.

Late to it, but I got my AHU mapped by Malone tuning in Canada. I couldn't find anyone in the UK to do it. Basically they sent me chips that I then replaced myself. They also custom tuned it as I didn't want a off the shelf one as they tend to give you a slab of torque low down.
So I did get a slight bump in BHP (I have bigger injectors) but main goal for me was to limit any low down torque , so it doesn't start coming in til 2000rpm and I also told them my driving rpm is 2500-3200rpm.
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

I'm not planning on remapping now but I'm intrigued by what speeds you drive between 2500 and 3200 revs?
What was your original engine and do you have longer 3rd and 4th gears?

My van had the 112i boxer and I still have that gearbox in it with the original ratios so flat out I can touch a gps 70mph but thats around 4k revs so I tend to motorway cruise between 60 and 65 mph ( which is plenty enough in a heavy high top with mud terrains).

Lloydy's box is now 5.43 final drive with 1.09 3rd and 0.70 4th gears from memory, that's pretty much my standard TDi Syncro build, best with a 'V' 2nd gear (1.88, makes it very even spacing), should give a true 70 at 3150rpm +/- 150 rpm, depending on tyre size, most are running 215/75/15 or bigger on a Syncro.
Those are the tallest Weddle 3rd and 4th gear ratios
Originally his was a 6.16 final drive, but really not suited to heavy camper TDi as pinion head is so small, 5.43 is best compromise and what is fitted to most 14" TD Syncros in both standard, AHF, and V, AVK codes for difflock versions

Mine has the 5.43 final drive but not the longer 3rd and 4th. I presume it has whatever is standard for what I think is a 6PA?
Does that sound right?
It still goes better that most of my other kombis ever did, apart from the 112i's which drove beautifully but did it at 20mpg on a good day
