Thule Omnistor Awning Cloth Alternatives?

Post by DerCribben »

Hello all, I've got a Thule Omnistor 5003 on my Syncro and I think the fabric could use replacing. In looking it seems that the Thule brand awning fabric is upwards of 500€ and it has me wondering if anyone's bought some other comparable material from a textile store that works just as well? Seems like it might be a way to save some money that could be used for another project on the van and I might even be able to get something more fun and fitting for our own style if I make it myself.

Most roll-out awnings seem to use waterproofed, UV stabilized ripstop polyester around the 420D weight
