Side vents are accumulating water inside the car

Hi guys, i dont know if this is a dumb question or not but today i noticed that, when raining, water is accumulating on my plastic side vents where from all the water is dripping in my “ engine bay “ or whatever causing water accumulation and seam rust.
Please notice that the body work has not yet started on my van bacause i still want to figure out all the mechanical problems but i dont want the seam rust to get even worse or maybe ruin whatever i fix in the future regarding seam rust.

I would really appreciate some tips you guys may have, or maybe the water is supposed to drip down there?

Water is supposed to drain down there and there presumably used to be drain holes and plenty of paint and wax, possibly all long gone.
It looks like you have a new panel on the bottom already. It is a job which is worth doing right and then water can drain down there for another 40 years

There was a similar pst on the T3 group on Facebook, someone posted an idea  that help minimise the problem, it entailed a cable tie on the bottom part of the plastic vent with the tail of the tie turning outside, the water drips down it an kind of diverts the channel of water that comes from the end of the roof gutter and runs down the vent.
