I have recently had the carb off for a clean and changed the accelerator cable. I initially thought the old accelerator cable was the problem with the over revving at idle but then found out it was the mechanism around the cam that was sticking. I fear I was a little forceful trying to correct this prior to lubricating it and now it doesn’t seem to do anything. I keep telling myself that the hot weather is the reason for this, and when the weather turns cold it will reset itself with a press of the throttle pedal, or am I kidding myself ?

First time using Tapatalk so hope the photo is clear to see.
Forgot to mention that she starts and runs perfectly now with no idling issues.
