Recommendations for a torque mulitplier

I’m about to embark on servicing the rear hubs on my T25 and wondered if there are any recommendations for a torque multiplier to tackle the hub nuts with. There are several on Amazon, mostly Chinese and reboxed so difficult to assess quality with prices ranging from £100 to £300. There is also a Sealey multiplier at about £250. Most have a gear ration of 3:1. 

If anyone has used any of these I’d be very happy to know about your experience.

I have one of these and a FBH. You could use two fat blokes, a suitable socket and breaker bar and a short length of scaffold pipe.

Torque multipliers require an immovable reaction point for the resultant torque on the multiplier body. We have a big one at work and unless eveything is well clamped down things can escape.
Easier to go down the socket, T-bar and scaff pole route for the home mechanic. Next step is a FO big torque wrench, you might get lucky and find an old Britool HVT-4800 with ¾"drive which will work in the torque range required.
Thats what I have in my home kit.
FWIW TengTool make a lovely and (relatively) affordable ¾" drive torque wrench, about ⅓ the price of a new Britool

I’d suggest you look on eBay for something secondhand by someone reputable like Norbar. If you get something with an accurately defined advantage ratio then you can also use it with a normal torque wrench to get the right tightening torque for the rear hubs. Whatever you get, make sure it comes with the correct reaction arm(s).

If you have a friendly mechanic, you can just ask them to whizz it off and then back on again (a bit), drive home and get to work. Even better if you take them the 46mm socket.

I just used a Halfords pro 3/4 breaker bar (£30, lifetime warranty) and a scaffold pole to retighten it, just using the 'stand on the bar at the correct distance from the fulcrum for your weight' equation you can look up. Many ways to make an omelette

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. It seems that an appropriate 3/4” breaker bar with an extension should do the job, and a little bit of physics to calculate the lever length appropriate for my body weight to torque up. I’ll let you know how I get on once I’ve started the job.

I use a 10" extension bar supported by a trolley jack to help keep the socket square on the nut...
