2E3 "SERVO" CHOKE.

Post by TwinTurbo »

Do people generaly find the 2e3 autochoke a bit rubbish?

I am designing a replacement for the auto choke ditching the spring, cams, bi metalic and pull down. it will be replaced with a stepper motor controlled by a microcontroler with vacuum sensing, coolant and ambient temperature. It should be able to give a smooth progression from 100% shut to 100% open without all the issues.

There's a couple of projects in the queue before it but the code is almost done. Just need to design the motor mount primarily.

When I had a fully rebuilt DG with a 2E3 it worked in all temperatures. Air leaks at the manifold gave me more trouble than the carb.
Sounds like a solution looking for a problem.
