Is there any manual adjustment on a 4 speed 1986 petrol clutch pedal, it seems rather high. I would say around 1” from being fully let out before it bites. I’m thinking it may need a clutch, I’ve had a quote for £525 supplied and fitted a genuine OEM one local to me in Tipton. I wasn’t sure if there were any adjustments.
Thanks

Re: High clutch pedal
So I bit the bullet and booked it in for a clutch replacement. Once the van was fully loaded, I took it out for a test drive and didn’t have much faith that the clutch would last much longer, especially with the biting point being so high.
I left it with the garage and, two days later, got the dreaded phone call.
They’ve confirmed that the clutch is indeed worn out. The flywheel is heavily scorched, the pilot/main bearing has seized, the rear main oil seal has failed, the clutch linkage is very stiff, and the clutch cross-shaft/pin is also seized. To top it all off, there was hardly any gearbox oil in it, and what little remained is probably the original oil!
The plan now is to strip everything down, clean it up, free off all the seized components, fit a new clutch, machine the flywheel, replace the bearing and oil seal, and refill the gearbox with fresh oil.
Not exactly the phone call I was hoping for, but I’d rather get it all sorted properly while it’s apart than have to revisit it later. Hopefully it’ll be money well spent and I’ll have a much more reliable van at the end of it.

Re: High clutch pedal
Finally completed it but the master cylinder bleed bolt is seized solid, now requires a new one at £244+ dreaded vat, turning into an expensive week on this van.

Yikes. Sometimes as you say, have to just suck it up.
Clutch master shouldn't cost that though, unless it's a gold one !

If it’s a fitted price and someone has stock it’s not far away

Re: High clutch pedal
Went to collect it and the owner was really nice, he left it on the 4 post and took me to look underneath.
He pointed out some areas of attention, mainly stuff I can do on my drive as some pipes need protecting with rubber sleeve as they are rubbing, he also pointed out the water pump is leaking so that’s next on my list.
