Hi,
my AFN TDI conversion 5 speed Westfalia has recently developed a new sound. When accelerating in 4th or 5th there is a woooo type noise which goes up in pitch as speed increase then back down in pitch when changed up to 5th and going up in pitch with speed increase again. Its only when on the accelerator and disappear if I lift my foot. Any suggestions where to start looking? Its one of Aiden's gearbox rebuilds from about 7 years ago which has been flawless.
Pete

Re: Whining when accelerating
No answers? 7 years of TDI torque may well have simply taken its toll on the gears and/or pinion bearing.
A slight whine isn't cause for much concern.
