Calling all Holdsworth roof owners

Post by Daveandluca »

Hi everyone,

I hope someone has some ideas for me..
Iv looked and looked for any posts on here or elsewhere regarding the the Holdsworth Villa 3 roof system. One of the ends of mine(the bit that folds in on itself when the roof is closed) has become pretty deteriorated and the canvas type material is split. The wooden board that is covered by the material, as a result sags a bit and doesn’t line up as it should.

A previous owner appears to have tried to strengthen with white gaffa type tape.

Just wondered if anyone here with the roof has restored their, replaced their ends or know of somewhere that has done this type of work?

If you have read all this, I thank you!

Any assistance would be amazing!

Dave :)

You know what, I did consider that. Thought I’d try you all as my first port of call.

Thanks for your reply 😁

Have a friend who has [had] a pop top Holdsworth. He had a high top added but not sure whether it was to gain more room or he was having trouble with the pop top.

Hi…

Sorry to drag up an old post, but I was just wondering if you ever got anywhere with a repair or replacement of your roof front/back panels?

Our ‘87 Holdsworth has just developed similar problems :?

Thanks!

Hi! No I havnt, to be honest!
I added some sealant in the bottom corners on the outside to stop any water ingress there, but re the panels themselves they are exactly as they were when I posted the question! I’m still considering what to do as the many many rivets are intimidating to remove alone and then to re create the folding end pieces is beyond my brain capacity. I may still try and cover over the top with some form of hard wearing, canvassssy, waterproof type stuff.

If you come up with anything I’d love to hear it..
