Thanks everyone for the chat and comments.  It's just over two years and I thought I would update.

10,000 miles later, a trip around France last September and no issues - engine purring, eager to "run".  Well pleased - back to France later in the year.

Just shows what quality work can do. Oh and no overheating - there's a clue!!

I did post on another thread - I discovered that in your insurance under "legal protection" most policies have a clause about claiming for breach of contract with a garage (everyone who I have spoken to never knew this) - can make a claim through small claims court through your insurance.. Responsibility for burden of proof is yours - keep receipts, emails, photos etc.

I followed this up and got an out of court settlement.
