I got some interior panels for my van, however the panel opposite the sliding door seems to be missing what it attaches to! I’ve always thought the van looks like it’s missing something!
It attached to th pillar here towards the back and along the bar at the bottom, but it has noting at the front or top to attach to!
Being a panel van it didnt come with a interior window surround panel so yours wont have any thing for the ply to attach to, for the front edge you need some small 90 degree metal brackets attached to the B piller .

Ah, thanks. I’ve got a rusty tailgate, was wondering if I can chop that up to use the window surround. And yes, some small 90’ brackets will do the trick.
Really weirdly, for some reason I have an original vw panel which is the inside part of a window van for exactly that place. It has been kicking around the workshop for years.
I will check tomorrow to see if I still have it. It may not have the same aperture as your window though but I can send you measurements. It might be worth a try.

I actually remembered to look for it on Friday and I cant find it anywhere unfortunately.
Several times I toyed with the idea of scrapping it because who would ever need such a thing but I think lack of space eventually got the better of me. Really sorry about that, it would have been ace to see it used properly.
If it does turn up I will let you know for sure but I think it is gone.

I might be able to help you here!
My old van, slowly being dismantled has a fibreglass window surround fitted. It’s glued and pop riveted into place and might be persuaded to come out in one piece! It has the remains of evo stik on the surface that should clean off quite easily.
Not sure how it would survive posting as it’s quite large with that full opening as well? Where abouts are you, I’m in South Devon.
