I'm looking for help as my electrics haven't been right since i bought my van as a project. I have a very slow battery drain. Last weekend i realised i had no power to the ignition and the 30A #9 had blown so hard it was bulging out. Have now replaced the fuse and it is starting fine for now.
The guy i bought it from said he had got as far as the headlights, which are 9 and 10 on the fuse box. These should be 10A but have been replaced with 30A and 15A for some reason.
I also have no idea about the relays and why the boxes in the picture do not match with the image here: https://vwt3uk.wordpress.com/t3-tech/el ... se-box-85/
Any advice on where to start would be really appreciated.
9 - RH headlight main beam
10 - LH headlight main beam
14 - heated rear window, heated mirrors, light switch light (I don't have a heated window or mirrors and have no idea what "light switch light" means.

Re: Help with relays and electrics
judging by yout avatar thumbnail, you have quad rectangular lights. it's probably a bpdged upgrade and may even have higher power bulbs. all would point to issues with the headlamp fuses.
so check there, put in a dedicated headlamp loom.

Re: Help with relays and electrics
Thank you for the advice. I don't think the headlights are right so I'll start there with a new loom. Hopefully it will sort it, it would be great to not be constantly losing battery power (we've tried testing for a drain but can't find anything).
