Can anyone recognise this seat part please?

Post by Madmaninshed »

Two of these parts fell out when I removed the seat cover from a standard passenger seat with headrest. Can anyone tell me what they are for, or how they fit please? Many thanks.
Sorry, the picture looks very large, and I don’t know how to reduce it.

Hi, Seat is back together, and spring is in place, but I can’t see how these two parts fit, and can’t see what they do. Any ideas anyone please? I don’t want to fit the seat to find it comes apart…..

Found it!  These are called leg springs, but heaven knows why…..  They go from the inside of the seat rail, through a tiny gap under the rail.  The rail needs to be loose to get them in place.  On the inside of the rail, the hooked end springs against the seat position adjuster bar, keeping it locked in place. I had to remove the drivers seat to find where they go, and it took me a while to find them. Going for a lie down now.
