Ive tried searching but have yet to find anything to identify this container

It was under the carpet and also behind a cupboard. Inaccessible until I removed the cupboard and carpet, as I'm redoing the interior. It's in the rear quarter on the drivers side. The top unscrews easily. The wooden sheet has been riveted on so I can't gain better access right now
