1989 1.6td westy pop top .
So I have just completed full suspension overhaul and upgrade . New bushes throughout, new radius rods, radius rod chassis mounts repaired and new bushes, new track rod ends , top nd bottom ball joints ,the whole shooting match . Had the van in garage today for 4 wheel alignment, caster, camber, tracking, toe etc etc. It turns out the guy can’t get it all set up properly , when the caster is correct he can’t get the tracking and camber correct . Also radius rod threads are not even, one side is 50mm the other is 100mm, it’s not right , something is amiss .. I will be having lengthy conversations with him in next few days to see if we can get to the bottom of it .
I fitted Brickwerks high lift kit ( second hand kit from club8090 member only few months use ) at the same time. I have an issue with this aswell , the van now leans over to near side by 25 mm , it didn’t before I did the suspension overhaul . I know you can get levelling shims for this , are the shims the correct way to resolve this ?
The steering feels a bit too light so I think caster is not right and the radius rods being very uneven kind of confirms this I think .
Anyone any ideas please ..
