Side windows curved?

Evening all.

I’ve tried a search but can’t seem to find an answer.

88 rhd caravelle.

I have removed the drivers side middle glass to replace the seal and chrome trim, successful install (even though deluxe trim is now up there with the worse jobs) I just noticed the registration etching the in tbe window is now on the right side of the glass, all the the others are on the left.. the window went in on so I assume it’s not curved glass.. but that’s my questjon is the glass curved? Am I ok to leave it?

I have just double checked to make sure.. but yes the etching is on the left



If I hadn’t of noticed the sekerit symbol.. I would never of asked. Because it seems to fit, I guess I’m going to have to buy another seal and refit it

why bother, chance of damaging something for very little gain, nobody really bothers about the etched reg. number or VIN on the glass - one of the windows in my SA 'velle is from another van, I've checked the others match the vehicle VIN on the M plate and the displayed VIN plate and the hidden under the dash VIN plate so the van isn't a ringer and everything matches the original SA documents and the import information

I just mean if the glass is curved. And I’ve installed it left to right , it will leak I would I would have thought.

I’m not really fussed about the etching being on the other side.

Ah sorry I was a little confused, im sure I read the first answer as it was curved glass, its changed to flat.

Aslong as it’s flat I’ll leave as is.

if you installed it wrong, the reg lettering would be reversed and not read correctly.??

Yes I have installed it left to right. The reg etching is now on the right side. The picture I uploaded was re-removal.

It confused me as well. Thats why I deleted my replies.

Auto correct corrected it wrongly and didn’t notice:o , I edited it later
