Checking over a Fellows cooker

Post by Profscooter »

My Autosleeper VHT has a Fellows hob and I noticed last time I used it, after I finished cooking, there was a slight smell of gas in the van which hadn’t been there before. Wondering if there is a jubilee clip worked loose or perhaps the hose to the bottle has slightly perished. I stuck my head in the gas bottle locker and the smell wasn’t coming from there so I’m thinking I need to check the hob end. Anyway, turned the gas off at the bottle to resolve for now. Any ideas if it could be anything else? And how does the hob come out? It looks like it is supposed to hang on the cabinet with some shaped metal shims although a couple of them have come loose and are just wedged in. Does it pull, lift, or unscrew (and hopefully bringing the end of the hose with it?) - and maybe worth getting a camper-specialist gas engineer to check the installation over?
