1.9 Carburettor Pics

Post by Ukjamie82 »

Hi

I'm currently fitting a 1.9 engine into my van and I'm struggling at the last hurdle.

I have attached the photo's of my carb but I may be missing a crucial piece and cannot work out what it is there is no return from the pedal.

Would anyone happen to have a photo of a similar setup.

I have no idea on what actual type it is (not very helpful i know)

Thanks in advance

cable should have a nipple swaged on the end as seen on the left side

you probably need a new cable and if you haven't got it the clip that goes on the cam to keep the cable in the groove when you lift off, part number is 046 129 559 but I don't know where you'd buy one now, probably a wanted ad job, I will check if I have one in my small parts boxes

Ok I think I've found a picture of the part , does anyone know what it's called and where I can buy one from.

sorry the first pic looked just like the wire was cut

the bit you are after I think is part of what VW describe as the connecting rod, part number 025 129 335 C
there is a listing on Ebay by the guys in Latvia who resell VW ClassicParts - I have bought from them previously - the part is available from VW Classic Parts themselves, and you could ask Brickwerks to get it from them if you don't want to buy from Ebay seller or VWClassicParts themselves, postage and taxes etc. can be an issue - last time I bought from the Latvians was pre Brexit, whilst the Ebay price includes shipping and taxes, it is possible you'll get hit up by customs when it enters the country now, so ask the question of the Riga boys

or put up a wanted, it maybe someone has a carb in bits/for bits and will sell that bit to you
