Brake Pipe Bolt Seized

Can't separate these two. And the higher solid pipe nut is getting damaged.
Any tips please. No leaking fluid. Just sprayed with penetrating oil.

A good pair of vice grips, 11mm spanner and heat did the trick. But, l have a problem!
The new pipe is much shorter! Back to the drawing board.

The pipe should approx 430mm in length. I should have measured before removing old and fitting new.



The braking was very mediocre. So decided to refresh front brakes with new disc and pads, reconditioned calipers and new flex pipes.

The old pads are badly cracked. And discs look poor

Removing the flexi pipe from near side was even more challenging. I managed to crush a finger when scaffolding pole slipped off socket while releasing caliper carrier. Then bit the inside of my mouth (chewing gum) three times in the same spot. And finally, as the hard pipe nut released l fell forward and hit head!! lt took heat, swearing, a dremel, more swearing and one vice grip and a 14mm brake pipe spanner.
Anyway the metal pipe union nut is totally wasted. I think l should replace it? It only goes about 15" along the chassis and looks fairly accessible... is it?

Dremel time. Cut down the side of the flexi pipe to release clamping pressure.

Both front brake pipes are fairly short and not to terrible to change, i rarely use pipe spanner’s they seem to round most stuff off , mini vice grips every time

Wrap them in denso tape once they're changed and you'll never have a problem undoing them again.

I agree. The small 11mm pipe spanner is useless.
A combination of grips, open spanners, larger sized pipe spanners, penetrating oil, heat and a dremel is all it takes.

Sylglas tape is very effective. I used to use it years ago. Messy stuff to use though.

E D I T - just looked up denso tape, seems to be the same type of tape.

Take you a month of Sundays to get the goop off your fingers, though
